Supporting safer construction sites in Ontario
The automated external defibrillator (AED) reimbursement program supports safer work environments by reimbursing eligible businesses the cost of one AED (up to $2,500) for every qualifying construction project.
The reimbursement program opened on January 1, 2026, and the last day to submit a reimbursement request is July 31, 2027. AEDs purchased between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2027, are eligible for reimbursement through the program.
To request a reimbursement, you need to download the reimbursement request form from the Business Safety Portal, which is available through your WSIB online services account. You’ll also find information about the reimbursement program, including which businesses are eligible, how to submit the request form to us and how you’ll be reimbursed, in the Business Safety Portal.

Why is the WSIB offering reimbursements?
