So, let’s break down how you do it. | We’re here to help. |
We use the gross payroll paid to your employees to determine your premium. | Icons of a piggy bank, dollar signs and a hand touching a dollar sign.
(Payroll x Rate) / 100 = Premium |
In this example, the gross payroll is $100,000. We multiply this by the rate, which is $1.25 and divide it by 100. So, the amount you’d need to pay is $1,250.00. | ($100,000.00 x $1.25) / 100 = $1,250.00 |
If you’re using our online services, there is a calculator to assist you. | Icon of a calculator with the plus, divide, multiply and equals signs. The number 1,250.00 appears in the top box of the calculator. |
Your reporting and payment frequency will depend on the size of your business. | Scrolling through the WSIB’s How to report and pay webpage, showing the insurable earnings and reporting and payment frequency for monthly, quarterly and annual businesses. |
You can refer to your welcome package to confirm your business’s frequency or simply sign up for email reminders, and we’ll notify you when it’s time to report and pay. | Visual of the Welcome letter that new businesses receive when they register with the WSIB.
