Program overview:

  • If you are one of the many health care and service providers who currently bill the WSIB electronically through the TELUS Health provider portal, you should know that they have updated their billing and registrations systems. The upgrades give you more options for how you bill the WSIB and make it easier to get direct payment. Look for email updates from TELUS Health for more details and information. We encourage all providers to use the electronic registration and billing systems as it will be easier to bill and get paid, and avoids delays with mail and fax.
  • The improvements to how you register for WSIB services and get paid means you can:
    • associate (link) your account as an organization or individual provider
    • add mailing/service locations/bank accounts to my locations
    • take advantage of centralized billing capabilities that are now available
    • submit bills on behalf of an associated provider
  • The new features and functionality on the TELUS Health provider portal are optional for existing users so you choose when you are ready to use them.

Frequently asked questions

Who uses the WSIB’s registration and billing systems?

Each year, the WSIB works with thousands of providers to support people in their recovery and return to work after a workplace injury or illness.

These providers are primarily health care practitioners and also includes other businesses like return-to-work providers like colleges, taxi companies and drug stores.

How is registration impacted by the new system?

The electronic registration has been streamlined to make it easier to register.  There are now more self-serve options and more flexibility for how providers register with the WSIB. They have also added new ways to categorize and link accounts making it easier for larger organizations to manage billing for multiple clinics and providers.

I submit bills by mail. How does the upgraded system affect me?

There are no changes to submitting bills in the upgraded system. You can continue using your current methods.
However, if you submit bills by mail, you can switch to online billing to take advantage the many new features and benefits on our provider portal today.

What online services are available for providers? What is changing?

The WSIB, in partnership with TELUS Health, provides online services for providers like you so that you can electronically register for WSIB services, bill them and get paid for the services that you provide to people with claims. The WSIB is updating these online services. This includes improving existing features and added new features on the TELUS Health provider portal

Why did the WSIB and TELUS Health update the online services for providers?

The WSIB and TELUS have updated their services so that they are modern and easier to use for providers. This means reduced paper-based administrative activities for all users, reducing the time spent on these activities for everyone. This also means we can spend less time on processing and administration and more time helping people.
